The story
Doubts and bad feelings/thoughts don't mean a single thing.
I did it. Holy shit I did it.
Here's the story:
I was expecting an acceptance letter but when it was a rejection my gut dropped.
Then I persisted and appealed.
Their acceptance rate for appeals is like 1.5%? And also usually you have to list any new achievements and I had literally nothing to show them.
Sent the appeal and went through highs and lows of this process. I knew the appeal results came out today, May 15, for many many months and waiting for it was giving me so much stress. I nearly went insane from the doubts. One day, my hands were numb and sweaty and I was spiraling, almost about to faint.
I persisted by having vivid imaginations in my head about me getting into that college. Who I'll meet, how grateful I'd be. I was brought to tears probably 3 times by my own imagination of the friends I would have.
I drew pretend emails to help me visualize the acceptance email.
Then, 2 weeks before the results came, I just let it go. Honestly, after all that struggle I had with "acting like I already had it" I just stopped doing that entirely. I actually started expecting to see a rejection letter because that made me stop thinking about it. I stopped obsessing over it for like 2 whole weeks.
I opened the email today thinking it would be an "Unfortunately..." but it was a "Congratulations, Your appeal has been accepted!"
I'm still in shock.
