The story
I was in deep depression, struggling with my career direction, wondering if I should keep being a doctor or start somewhere in corporate. Everyday of my life looked repetitive, sad. I used to just lie on my bed and do nothing. Used to apply to so many jobs and nothing would come back. I was directionless. I distinctly remember one morning I decided to stop feeling pathetic about myself and surrender to the universe. I remember I was sitting on my chair and i said - " Im not going to fight this because this is not my fight, this is yours. Universe I'm surrendering myself to you, I trust you". I had a pretty good day that day. Got a call for an interview. Salary was good. But I didn't like the role that much so I declined it politely. I think this is what I did right. I said no to the thing because I knew I deserved better. That night I applied to a random posting, they wanted a doctor. Withing 10mins of talking they asked scheduled an interview for the next day. I went there again with the mindset of politely declining if i dont like the role. To my surprise the work was good, the salary was good, it was 20mins from where I lived and they didn't care about the 10months career gap I had. No catch. I came back home, discussed it with my family, and they said it's pretty good. Its been 20 days since ive been working here. Ive learned so much
